Lichfield Windows supporting Joan Seeley Pain Relief Memorial Trust
Staff from Lichfield Windows are delighted to have chosen the Joan Seeley Pain Relief Memorial Trust, as our charity of choice.
The Joan Seeley Pain Relief Memorial Trust has donated £125,000 worth of medical pain relief equipment for hospitals and hospice across the UK since launching in 1979.
The Story of the Joan Seeley Charity
In 1979, Joan Seeley died of bone cancer aged just 39 years old and the Joan Seeley Pain Relief Charity Trust was founded with the support of motorsport stars Mike Hailwood, Phil Read, Stirling Moss and Murray Walker.
The charity’s motto is ‘every £1 collected is a £1 spent’ on medical equipment and as a registered charity they are VAT exempt.
Some of the organisations they have supported in the past are Greenwich and Bexley community hospice plus Rainbows Children’s Hospice. With sponsorship from Bonham’s and Mallory Park they have also purchased £11,250 worth of life-enhancing medical equipment for Rainbows too.
The specialist charity is now in their 42nd year, having supported over 33 hospitals and hospices all over the country.
Lichfield Windows is proud to be one of the charity’s most loyal supporters, having raised funds for a number of years.
